Fun Asian-Themed Cake and Cupcake Designs

I guess I’ve been living under a rock. I had no idea there were so many gorgeously decorated cakes and cupcakes out there with Chinese and Japanese themes. I stumbled upon a few recently and they were too cute for words. They were so creative and so drool-worthy that I just had to go looking for more. Now it’s your turn to get hungry. Grab a glass of milk and enjoy!

First up is the Lucky in Love wedding cake at left, from Jacques Fine European Pastries in Suncook, New Hampshire. Is that great or what?

The cake at right looks like Chinese porcelain with wonderful detail and a temple-jar top. Photo from flacpagroup.

Believe it or not, the blue and white ginger jar at left isn’t a jar at all – it’s a cake done with hand painted fondant. And the flowers aren’t real either; they’re sugar poppies.

This masterpiece was created by Kristyn Marchus of Pennsylvania’s Cream Valley Farm Catering and Cakes.

Whipped Bakeshop in Philadelphia did the sushi cake at right. Looks good, doesn’t it?

But when it comes to sushi, maybe you’d prefer the real thing – and the sushi wedding cake at left IS the real thing!

From cake that looks like sushi to sushi that looks like cake… My Asian-inspired adventure continues.

Have a great weekend!
